new year's eve gala at rlc

this is by far the best new year's eve. EVER.

better than the previous year, when we saw the two dead bodies. hah

the gala was supposed to start at 7.30. we left home at 7.20. reached rlc, and then we waited... and waited. pa was still busy having a "meeting" at the tennis pavilion. peter and i went there to get him but he didn't arrive at the banquet hall much much later.

boys will always be boys... and they wonder when we'll start calling them men, instead of boys. i don't think it will ever happen...

the food wasn't all that bad. i only enjoyed the salad. which was very much like the shrimp cocktail from the orchid.

at the stroke of midnight they relesed the balloons. mary and i were happily bursting them. my dress was short so maybe i might have flashed something at some point. haha no i didn't.

we bought a bottle of moet&chandon(pronounced mow-ETT). my first taste of champagne! i like it! and of course i needed my shirley temple. two glasses of it.

towards the end of the night we were entertained by leonard tan. he wasn't too bad.

i decided to wear flats because i've never danced in heels before. and i very much like wearing ballet flats.

the funnest part of the night was definitely dancing!!! it's a shame that we started dance lessons in may, and we've been taught to rock&roll, foxtrot, cha cha, waltz, samba,and salsa, but we have forgotten most of the steps!! but it was fun. i went "whoo" everytime i turned. haha i told you everyone in rlc could dance...

this is the first new year's eve the family is together. since............ six? seven? years ago.
