The Kuala Lumpur preliminary was hosted by SMK Convent Bukit Nanas. The host school was one of the highlights of last year’s championship when they qualified for both the U-18 and U-15 divisions, and are now knocking on the doors of the other powerhouses, including SMK St John, SMK Victoria and SMK Sri Hartamas.

In the U-18 division, last year’s U-15 preliminaries winner, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas’s CK, was chasing its sister team, ELM Worder, for the top spot right down to the wire. In the very last round, CK managed three wins to finish on 16 wins and + 1696 spread points and were closely following the game at the first table between ELM Worder and Orange Garuda from SMK St John.
